Hello again! :) Today, I will be writing about Klaipeda's drama theatre. Image copyright Image copyright The exact inception date of Klaipeda Drama Theatre is still unknown. “The House of Comedy“ was used for military purposes in the past. According to some sources the theater at “The House of Comedy” operated back in 1777; some time later, the B erlin Theatre troupe supposedly performed there.  It was a two-storey classical building with an attic. In 1854 the theatre was destroyed in a fire. Tradesman Masonas purchased the ruins and from his own funds built a new building in 1857. At least three faces remain until this day. The theatre was closed with the beginning of the First World War. On 20th March 1939, World War 2, the Germans demanded that Lithuania give up the Klaipeda region, which had been detached from Germany  after WW1. Hitler also made a speech later that year on the balcony of the old part of the drama theatre (first photo) ann

Kretinga Church

Thank you for waiting for my next blog, and as I told you in "Hello World!" , I flew to Lithuania. When I was there, we went to visit the local church, which is in Kretinga. The organ is the oldest dated one in Lithuania, and there are a lot of unique woodwork elements throughout the church. I think that the church is perfect for special occasions like weddings and christenings. In 1940, Soviet authorities closed the monastery, and confiscated all the valuables. The majority of the church building and the monastery were destroyed in the 1941 fire, and further damage was done during World War 2. Rebuilding and restoration work started in 1982 and still ongoing in 2018. Image copyright I think it is quite interesting seeing all the sculptures and t

I had someone comment about if it was worth going to the Winter Gardens in Kretinga. Image copyright Image copyright   All year round, IT'S WARM (and pretty!!!) in the Winter Gardens. If it's cold outside, inside, IT'S WARM!!! It is a nice place to come in, on a chilly day and warm up. In the mean time, you could see the turtles, parrots or fish. Another great thing to do, is going to the mini museum full of tales from Lithuania's history, or if that's not your cup of tea, you could go exploring in the colossal plants and palm trees that are located round the edges of each corner on t

This is my first blog so lets make it a good one! travelablog, to me, is quite a big thing as I am only 10 years of age. I will write about my travels around the world and my personal highlights. Today I will write about best things to do in Lithuania, especially the Western part. I mostly go and enjoy Lithuania because thats were my parents and their families come from. I will be leaving again soon so I will fill you in with what happened. Last year when I went, my TOP highlight was going to the Dolphinarium. Best thing that ever happened to me!!! At the Dolphinarium, as you can guess, have dolphins. There was a show that has 6 dolphins perform many tricks including: Image copyright Playing basket ball Singing Clapping Painting Diving  Doing flips Hoola-hooping (on their nose) Balancing balls So I think it is most definitely worth seeing. Also, at the end of the show, they open up a photo area where you can take a photo of you touching a dolphin and you can feel the
